Jul. 4 - EverCreep II
Nick convinced me to lay down the twenty clams for EverQuest II, so I've been playing. I created a Kerran monk and started adventuring. This is an important part of the story so I'll be sure you all know that a Kerran is a cat-man (yes, my character is male, thank you very much). So, I get invited to this group to go kill some gnolls or something and immediately one of the members exclaims that they now have a kitty to play with. Realizing that she's talking about me, I'm not really that pleased. This is exacerbated by her continuing on to how she's going to pet me and love me and bathe me. I am now officially creeped out. Despite my assurance that I am fully capable of satisfying my own hygienic needs, the discussion continues well beyond the realm of comfort (with her saying that a clean kitty is the best kind of kitty). This wasn't sexual, this was just improprietous cuteness. Finally, after saying matter-of-factly how creeped out I was, I decided to elaborate by telling her that for all I knew she was a 47-year-old balding guy sitting in his underwear in his Hello Kitty-decorated room. Evidently she didn't much care for that idea and proceeded to be a little bitch to me (a cute little bitch, but still). Fortunately by that time someone else joined which gave her the opportunity to be disturbingly cute to and divert the attention from me. The whole experience will now make me think twice about taking a bath (but don't worry, I'll still shower).
